There’s a new franchise league on the block and it’s known as the International League T20 (ILT20), which has been introduced by the Emirates Cricket Board. The first edition is set to take place in the first and second months of 2023 and several months prior to that, there’s been plenty of hype around the inaugural edition in UAE. Each team had a $2.5 million purse and needed 18 players including at least one associate player.
A total of six franchise teams are taking part in ILT20 2023 and a majority of the team owners are owners of Indian Premier League (IPL) teams as well. In this round-robin and playoffs format tournament, the teams will be playing a total of 34 T20s between 13 Jan – 12 Feb 2023, and a lot of the teams have already roped in massive international names to join their squads.
