With just a couple of weeks left in the year, we don’t expect this tweet’s record to be broken anytime soon.
A major influencer in the Indian sporting industry, the most liked tweet of the year belongs to Virat Kohli and honestly, there are no surprises here. The holds the record of the most followed Indian on Instagram by a long way and he’s breaking records on Twitter now too. Kohli took to Twitter to announce the birth of his daughter earlier in the year and that was the record-breaking tweet.
So far, there are 539,600 likes on the tweet along with 51,000 retweets and now that this old tweet is resurfacing once again, we expect the counts to further go up in the next couple of weeks until 2022. What’s interesting is that when Kohli announced the pregnancy of his wife last year, that tweet also went on to become the most liked tweet of 2020!

Clearly, he loves records and loves breaking them too. With regards to the tweet in question, he posted two photos with a note, one in English and one in Hindi to announce the news of his daughter being born, while just putting up a red heart in the caption. Take a look at that tweet here:
