We’re all set to welcome yet another edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. It’s the fifth season of the tournament and this time, it’s bigger and better than the previous ones. Today however, we’re going to run you through the list of Indian players who will be participating in the 2021/22 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
As you know, Indians haven’t been a part of many franchise leagues outside the country because the BCCI doesn’t allow it. For Indians to play in such leagues, they need to have retired from the game in India and then will take no further part in any roles in Indian cricket. 1) Yusuf Pathan
After having called it quits in Indian cricket, Yusuf Pathan is the icon player for Chennai Braves as this team makes its debut in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. He last played the Road Safety Legends series earlier this year where the 39-year old ended on a high, scoring 37* and 62* in his final two innings.
2) Abhimanyu Mithun
32 years old, he’s among the youngest among Indian players at the 2021/22 Abu Dhabi T10 League, for Northern Warriors. Having played in 4 Tests and 5 ODIs for India, the bowling all-rounder will have plenty of experience to offer the side, also having 16 IPL games under his belt, last having represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2013. He represented Karnataka in the List A tournament earlier this year.
3) Kaunain Abbas
Northern Warriors seem to have taken a liking towards Indian players as they signed this wicket-keeper batsman from India as well. Kaunain Abbas has represented Karnataka in 4 List A and 11 FC games, with 6 FC fifties to his name as well.A regular part of the Karnataka Premier League, he last appeared in it in KPL 2019 and may break into the team as they don’t have many wicket-keeping options!
4) Yo Mahesh
Another Indian in the Northern Warriors set up. Now 33 years old, the bowling all-rounder has the experience of 50 FC games where he picked 108 wickets for Tamil Nadu and even scored a couple of centuries with the bat. He represented Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils many years ago in the IPL as well, last seen in TNPL 2019!
5) Munaf Patel
Having enjoyed a decent career for Team India including 13 Tests, 70 ODIs and 3 T20Is, Munaf Patel was last seen in the Legends Series earlier this year where he picked 3 wickets in 5 games for India Legends this year. He played the Sri Lanka Premier League in late 2020 as well and the 38-year old will don the Chennai Braves jersey alongside former India teammate, Yusuf Pathan.
