IND vs NZ: Was Virat Kohli OUT?

If you’ve reached this page, then we’re sure you’re aware of the whole controversy that happened around the Indian skipper’s dismissal today in the India vs New Zealand 2nd Test in Mumbai. Being played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, India batted first and Virat Kohli was very unfortunate to be given out today, in an LBW call that sparked a huge debate on social media.

IND vs NZ: Was Virat Kohli OUT?

Born in Mumbai, left-arm New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel was the wrecker-in-chief today as he picked all of the first four wickets to fall of the Indian 1st innings, including those of Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara for a duck and Kohli for a 4-ball duck as well. It was later that he picked the wicket of Shreyas Iyer as well. However, let’s come back to the Kohli LBW which we’re not sure was out or not!

Given out, Kohli was quick to review the on-field umpire’s decision because he felt he had some bat on the ball before it hit his pad. When the slow-motion replays were on, there was no conclusive evidence of whether the ball hit bat or pad first, stuck right in between both at the time of impact. That’s why the third umpire had to go with the on-field call and adjudge Kohli out.

Kohli had a look of disbelief on his face when he was signalled out and had to leave the pitch. Further, he went on to smash his bat into the boundary cushions while walking out. Already lots of questions on his form over the last few months, this is the last thing captain Kohli needed. Cast your vote on whether he was out or not out. Vote below:
