He scored two consecutive centuries including the second one which saw RCB being knocked out of the IPL 2023 season. Here today, he went on to score his third century of the season, to add to four fifties, smashing his best score of the season in an all-important Qualifier 2 game against Mumbai Indians, with a spot in the IPL 2023 final at grabs.
Shubman Gill scores third century of IPL 2023
Gill got his first fifty in 32 balls and from there, he cut loose and scored his next fifty in only 17 balls. Everything after that was just a bonus for Gill as he smashed 6, 4, 6 off Chris Jordan after reaching the landmark. The commentators were just speechless looking at the sublime elegance on display, as Gill overtook Faf du Plessis to become the highest run scorer of IPL 2023 as well.
He hit 129(60) and finally, he was dismissed against the bowling of Akash Madhwal who picked up 9 wickets in 2 games prior to this one. Gill smashed Gujarat Titans into a great position in IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 and his knock was not only the highest individual score of IPL 2023, but also his personal IPL career best and also the highest score in an IPL Playoffs match.

Due to his century knock, the Titans were able to scale the 200-run mark in less than 18 overs with Hardik Pandya and Sai Sudharsan still at the crease. Gill played some of the best shots we’ve seen and he never lost shape while doing so either.
