In October last year, two new teams were finalised for the upcoming IPL 2022 season and it’s a historic move for the tournament as it’s the first time 10 teams will be playing in a single edition. And as part of the build up to the tournament, all the franchises have been revealing their new jerseys with new logos and sponsors, and one of the new teams also got into the act today.
We’re talking about Gujarat Titans who only revealed their team name last month ahead of the IPL 2022 Auction and now, they’re had a lovely jersey launch event to reveal their debut jersey to their fans, and cricket lovers in general. The jersey launch event revealed their blue jersey which looks stylish but many people say that blue has been overused by teams in the IPL.

Let’s look at Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals who are already playing in blue and then the Delhi Capitals also have a lot of blue in their jersey as well. The last thing you wanted was to have yet another IPL franchise with a blue jersey, but the Titans did what they thought was best while designing their IPL 2022 jersey.
The lightning bolts in white add a little bit of style to the jersey while ‘Ather’ the principal sponsor is very prominent on the front of the Gujarat Titans jersey. Present at the launch event, Titans captain Hardik Pandya was part of the proceedings and he also donned the new jersey which looks athletic and will surely appeal to younger audiences across India.

A few of the other teams have already gone ahead and done their jersey launch events including Royal Challengers Bangalore who launched their new jersey yesterday. There was music, dance, celebrations, and other festivities taking place at the Gujarat Titans jersey launch event today. Captain, coach and other management also had a few words to say.

How would you rate the Gujarat Titans jersey for IPL 2022? In all honesty, we don’t think this deserves more than a 4/10 in terms of creativity and the colours being used.
