In 2018, Cricket Canada introduced a new franchise tournament called the Global T20 Canada and since then, there have been two successfully completed seasons of this competition. The tournament has a short history but in 2023, they’ve made a return after 4 years and they intend to grow this league to new heights in seasons to come in Canada.
In the short fixtures list we’ve had so far in two completed seasons, there have been several good individual performances, that have helped their respective teams with both bat and ball. Today on this page, we’d like to review some of the best batting performances in this exclusive and complete Global T20 Canada centuries list, from the first season till date…
GT20 Canada centuries list
The first ever century in this competition came off the bat of a certain Sherfane Rutherford who at the time represented the Cricket West Indies B team. At the time, he hadn’t yet made his international debut for West Indies and this knock would’ve certainly helped him catch the eye of the selectors. Further more, he will always be remembered as the first Global T20 Canada centurion.

At the time of last re-writing this page, there were a total of 3 individual centuries in the GT20 Canada tournament, last updated 17th July 2023, a few days before the start of the GT20 Canada 2023 tournament. All three of them came from the bat of international batsmen, include Rutherford, his fellow West Indian Chris Gayle, and South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen.

All three centuries were also unbeaten ones, with the batsmen all representing different franchises in the GT20 Canada, including West Indies B, Vancouver Knights, and Toronto Nationals. From them, Rutherford’s knock of 134* remains the highest score in the short and sweet history of the competition so far, and it’ll take some beating for sure.
For Global T20 Canada 2023, two new teams have emerged and there are quite a few more signings from all around the world. These includes players who have represented a number of T10 and T20 franchises across the globe and with this quality of players, we won’t be surprised if this list gets filled up quickly going forward.
From the existing GT20 Canada centuries list, Gayle’s knock of 122* holds the record for the best strike rates from any innings on this list (225.92), while he also has the record for the most sixes in any of these innings, hitting 12 sixes and 7 fours in that knock against the Montreal Tigers in 2019.
