The first few days are behind us in the 2020/21 Big Bash League and after a couple of double header days, we’re back to the single day schedule at BBL 10. Today, we’re going to speak about Match 7 of the tournament where Sydney Thunder will get another chance to open their account this season, losing their first appearance a few days ago against Melbourne Stars by a decent margin of 22 runs.

They’re playing against Brisbane Heat who also lost their first game of their BBL 10 season, also losing to the Stars by 6 wickets. After today however, one of these teams will have their first points on the board and historically speaking, it’s Heat who has held the advantage among the two! Sydney Thunder

While he’s had a wicket draught in recent games, Daniel Sams was the highest wicket-taker in BBL 09 and he was brilliant in his first game this season too, getting 2/24 in 3 overs, so we’re picking him again. Bowlers get 25 points per wicket in T20 fantasy cricket so let’s go in for another option. Tanveer Sangha made his debut for Thunder in the last game and he was also fantastic with 2/26 in his 4 overs in that game.

Now with the bat, Alex Hales has been having a really poor time with 10+ innings since his last fifty score. However, he was their top scorer last season and began the season well with 46 at the top in the last game. While many will pick the likes of Hales and Khawaja and Ferguson, let’s remember that they have Alex Ross in the side who has been a consistent performer in the BBL over the years and is probably your x-factor player!

Brisbane Heat

Chris Lynn hasn’t got himself a big score in a while, so he’s probably lower on confidence. He’s dropped himself to number #3 in the batting order and we have the likes of Max Bryant and Sam Heazlett opening the innings, and it’s wort picking both. Having scored only 8(7) before being run out and getting no wickets in his 2 overs, English all-rounder Daniel Lawrence may not be heavily picked today and there’s your chance to cash in.

If we’re on the topic of all-rounders, we have Tom Cooper who scored 26 in the last game and while he didn’t bowl in that game, we have to have him in our PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234) THU vs HEA fantasy team because of so many years of BBL experience. Xavier Bartlett was good on debut with 1 wicket and a decent economy rate and we’re picking hi again because he’s got a flurry of wickets coming into BBL 10.
