Numbers

  • Last 5 games head to head, Worcestershire leads 3-2.
  • Harry Gurney – 17 wickets in 9 games this season.
  • Riki Wessels – 304 runs in 10 games this year.
  • Alex Hales – 275 runs in 9 games this year.

Worcestershire

This team hasn’t been very heavy on individual performances. Riki Wessels is their only batsman who has crossed the 300-run mark while only two bowlers in Pat Brown and Wayne Parnell have picked up 10+ wickets for their franchise in the 2019 T20 Blast so far. Brown isn’t a compulsory pick as he has only 1 wicket in his last 2 games, but Parnell brings all the experience and can also bat well. Remember, he scored 81* earlier this season as well.

Moeen Ali has 100+ runs and a couple of wickets in just 2 games this season, so he can’t be missed in your fantasy team. A regular part of the England squad across all formats, he comes with a lot of experience as well. In the middle order, they also have Ross Whiteley who has scored 6 sixes in an over in this competition in the past. He’s also coming off a good knock of 89* in his last game in the tournament, so you should consider him.

Nottinghamshire

Alex Hales has a point to prove after missing out of the CWC 2019 due to a doping ban. 3 fifties in his 9 innings has been good but he hasn’t been able to perform consistently. As for Joe Clarke, he has 2 fifties in his last 5 games this season, including one innings of 47* so he’s bringing out more consistent knocks. All-rounders are the best choices in T20 cricket and we have two high-quality all-rounders in this side.

Daniel Christian has 165 runs in 9 games this season and he has only been dismissed thrice. He hasn’t bowled that often but has managed to pick up 4 wickets in the tournament as well. The next big all-rounder in the side is Samit Patel, who brings a massive amount of experience to the fore. Pick him in your Howzat (sign-up with code “READ1234”) fantasy team as he won’t be picked by many due to a disappointing season so far.
