Pick all the experienced players first and with the bat, the most experienced is Faf du Plessis. He hasn’t had the most runs in the international circuit of late but he’s a fighter especially in the longest format of the game. Along with him, pick middle order batsman Rassie van der Dussen who has 3 fifties in 4 Tests and has a sublime limited overs record in the short span since making his international debut.
In the bowling department, Kagiso Rabada is injured which means Anrich Nortje will be one of the senior pacers. He has been doing well in the limited overs formats, with a fabulous IPL 2020 and has 5 wickets in his only previous game here. We’ll also have off-spinner Keshav Maharaj in action and while he may not be the leading wicket-taker, he’s sure to add a few runs with the bat as well, so pick him too.
Sri Lanka
In the longest format, Sri Lanka is led by Dimuth Karunaratne and while he’s the ideal Test batsman, we’re skipping him because he doesn’t have any professional experience since March this year. Instead, I’m picking Dinesh Chandimal in my SA vs SL fantasy team because he’s been in great form including having a great LPL 2020 and being out of the SL team since a while, he’ll be raring to make a mark once again.
