What a fantastic Test series this has been! While everyone has been going gaga over Ashes 2021/22, the India tour of South Africa has been pretty entertaining as well. India had a great start to the series which took them 1-0 up but then they were brought back to reality as they lost at The Wanderers for the first time ever, a venue where they had a lot of success in the past, including a win on their last tour here in 2018.
The stage is now set as we move into the 3rd and final Test of the series, level at 1-1. This was because of a stellar and stoic performance by South Africa, especially the chase in the 4th innings, which is never an easy task. India still start as favourite to win yet another away Tests series but the home side is now high on confidence after that win. A very talented limited overs batter, there’s wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne who we’re picking in our SA vs IND fantasy team for the 3rd Test because India’s keeper Rishabh Pant has been out of form and played some bad shots in the last game too. Additionally, Temba Bavuma has been the best looking batsman for the home side in this series so far with a couple of fifties to his name, and he’ll be looking to convert one.
Aiden Markram has also looked a little comfortable at the crease, though he could certainly do with a few more runs. We’re definitely liking what we’ve seen of Marco Jansen so far and apart from wickets, he’s played attacking shots with the bat too, so don’t miss him. One person we’re leaving out of our SA vs IND Dream11 team for the 3rd Test is Keshav Maharaj who hasn’t yet taken a wicket this series but we think they’ll pick him anyway!
India
It’s time for the return of the king Virat Kohli who was out of the 2nd Test with back spasms and it’s unlucky for Hanuma Vihari that he’ll have to miss out. On the other hand, the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have held on to their spots with quick fifties each. Another change expected in the side is Mohammed Siraj missing out and while Umesh Yadav is an option, we think the more experienced Ishant Sharma will be picked.

Usually, Ravi Ashwin is one of my first picks from Team India in Test cricket but he’s got only 3 wickets in 2 games here and hasn’t looked threatening.
