NZ vs AFG Dream11 Predictions – T20 World Cup 2021 | 7 Nov

It’s the last double header of the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE and here’s a match that the whole of India will be following. It’s New Zealand vs Afghanistan and a win for the former would mean a direct spot in the semi final while a loss would mean we’re going to net run rate and it’s open to all three of Afghanistan, India as well as New Zealand. India’s only hopes of getting through is Afghanistan winning well in this game.

It’s Match 40 of the tournament and is being played at Abu Dhabi. New Zealand have 3 wins in their 4 games so far, with a loss only to Pakistan while Afghanistan has 2 in 4 games, losing to Pakistan and India. If you remember well, Afghanistan gave Pakistan a run for their money, bringing the latter down to needing 24 runs in 12 balls, so we fancy their chances here. New Zealand

In the last couple of games, we’ve seen Martin Guptill go really hard in the powerplay overs but with Afghanistan likely to start with spin, he will surely be tested here. We’re leaving him out of our NZ vs AFG fantasy team and will rather pick the experience Kane Williamson for such a crunch game. With not too many contributions prior to the last game, James Neesham will be happy with the 35* and the wicket he got against Namibia.

When these teams last played an ODI in the 2019 World Cup, Neesham even picked a 5-fer and won the Man of the Match award, so he’s a must have in your NZ vs AFG Dream11 team. When they played before that in the 2015 World Cup, Trent Boult picked a 3-fer and with 8 scalps in 4 games in this tournament so far, he’s a must have bowling option as well. Since spin has played a big factor in this tournament, we’d recommend not to leave out Ish Sodhi, who has 7 wickets so far.

Afghanistan

In the middle order, one of their most experienced campaigners in Mohammad Nabi has only been dismissed once in 4 innings here in the 2021 T20 World Cup and is batting at an average of 113, while has been brilliant with the ball as well. Another all-rounder who many wouldn’t have picked until the last game is Karim Janat. Brother of former captain Asghar Afghan, he scored 42 against India and even picked a wicket in that game!

While he bats lower down the order, Gulbadin Naib has started making a couple of useful contributions in the lower order and has also got three wickets in his last couple of games. It’s going to be tough to choose so many all-rounders but if you manage, add him to your PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234) NZ vs AFG fantasy team. I think a spinner like Mujeeb ur Rahman who turns the ball may be more useful than Rashid Khan.
