As international cricket is slowly returning to it’s prime, we have the 2020 Luxembourg T20I Trophy wherein you’ll get to enjoy some associate cricketing action with Luxembourg playing hosts in a 3-day T20I tri-series tournament. The series takes place between 28-30 August and we begin Match 1 with the hosts playing against Czech Republic, with Belgium being the third participating team!
With the 2019 European T20 Qualifier being postponed, this tournament was organized to give these players some international exposure and all games will be played at the Pierre Werner Cricket Ground in Walferdange, with all of the teams having announced their respective squads as well. We’re not sure of team combinations but we do know that Joost Mees is leading the side and while the 41-year old doesn’t have a great T20I record, he has a few big scores over the years, including forties against Portugal and Spain. Vikram Vijh however is a better pick for your LUX vs CZR fantasy team because he has a best of 64* and bowls too, though has been wicketless in 4 career T20Is so far.
You’d expect some of the young blood to do well and that’s why we’re picking the 28-year old Mohit Dixit who has a best score of 38 so far and also has 1 wicket in his 3 T20Is for Luxembourg so far. Ankush Nanda is the ideal pick if you’re looking at a specialist bowler in your team, having a great T20I record. Tony Whiteman is another bowling option but is 51 years old and he’s probably going to be benched today!

38-year old Edward Knowles is pretty experienced and though he has a best score of 16* in 7 T20Is for Luxembourg, it’s safe to say he’s going to be in the playing eleven because he’s leading the side today. The real MVP of the team however is Sudesh Wickramasekara who has a best score of 104* in 5 T20Is so far along with another 50+ score and he also has 3 wickets, so he’s a fantasy captain or vice-captain option too!
