Ireland

Returning to the side is Kevin O’Brien who retired from ODIs and has played only 5 international games this year. He has had poor numbers and not got great scores in the domestic circuit, but we’re picking him in our IRE vs SA fantasy team because he steps up when most needed. His opening partner Paul Stirling has been one of the top international batters of 2021 and he’ll want to do better than 51 runs in 3 games he got in the ODIs.

Becoming the first batsman in ODI history to score a century batting at number #8, Simi Singh is a must have because he played some great strokes with the bat and additionally, he’s a tough spinner to get away as well. The Irish middle order has a lot of power hitters and after what we saw him do in the ODIs, we definitely want to have George Dockrell in our IRE vs SA 1st T20 Dream11 team. Pick Josh Little as a frontline pace option!

South Africa

The visitors don’t have many power hitters or T20 batsman at the top, with all of Bavuma, Markram and van der Dussen being traditional shot makers. There’s a middle order spot that will be taken by either of Heinrich Klaasen or David Miller. Pick the one that makes the cut from them.

Not many people will be picking George Linde as the bowling all-rounder is not all that well known. However, he’s likely to open with the ball and is a floater with the bat as well, so it’s even worth a gamble to pick him as fantasy captain or vice-captain. One of the quickest pacers in the world, Anrich Nortje only got a wicket in two ODIs and I expect better numbers from him in the T20 series, while Tabraiz Shamsi is a must have too.
