What a long and painful wait this has been. Finally though, we have the 2020 Indian Premier League all set to kick off in UAE and it’s going to be one game a day except for weekends where there will be double headers. Match 1 will be played in Abu Dhabi and this is a revenge game for Chennai Super Kings who are the most consistent team in IPL history but they finished second in the IPL 2019 final.
They lost to Mumbai Indians and it was complete dominance by the latter in IPL 2020, beating CSK in both round robin games, in the playoff game and then again in the final. Now, CSK will be looking for payback and you should be slightly careful for the first round of games to be able to know the probably team combinations! Keep reading for our complete PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234“) fantasy preview of the MI vs CSK game…

Numbers
- Mumbai Indians – only team to have won 4 IPL titles.
- Last 5 matches head to head, Mumbai leads 5-0.
- Head to head in all IPL matches, Mumbai leads 17-11.
- Quinton de Kock – 529 runs in 16 games in IPL 2019.
Mumbai Indians
Let’s start at the top where Mumbai has Chris Lynn and Quinton de Kock as overseas signings but the former had a poor CPL 2020 but only 138 runs in 9 games, which means there’s every chance he could be left out so that they can play more overseas quicks! They have the likes of McClenaghan, Pattinson, Coulter-Nile, Boult and more. James Pattinson came in to replace squad Malinga in the squad but it’s unlikely he’ll get a game anytime soon.
But we do know Mitchell McClenaghan has that fighting spirit and will surely get a place in the playing eleven, since he contributes with the bat as and when required. Talking about batting, pick Suryakumar Yadav who had 424 runs in IPL 2019 and his form continued post that as well, with plenty of runs and centuries in the domestic circuit. We’ll skip Hardik Pandya for the first few games because he’s been out of action since a long time now.
Chennai Super Kings
In IPL 2019, Shane Watson scored 398 runs and in IPL 2018, he scored 555 runs but he takes a while to kick off, so we’re leaving him out of our MUM vs CHE fantasy team. Similarly, Dwayne Bravo was barely seen with the bat in CPL 2020 and picked only 9 wickets in 10 games, so we’re leaving him out too. Instead, pick Faf du Plessis who scored 396 runs in 12 games in IPL 2019 but remember that it’s been 14+ innings since he last scored a fifty!

They have a spin bowling brigade and with Harbhajan SIngh out of IPL 2020, Piyush Chawla is going to be the one to watch out for, set to play his first season for SK after bagging 150 IPL career wickets! It’s going to be tough to choose their overseas combination, so add Kedar Jadhav to your PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234“) fantasy team, someone who will be the anchor of the middle order with Suresh Raina dropping out of IPL 2020.
