This has been one of the weirdest editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) so far, where it’s the final day of round robin action and the possibilities are still endless. The last double header Sunday of the year and Kings XI Punjab play their last home game, now at the bottom of the points table. It’s #8 vs #1 as they take on Chennai Super Kings in a dead rubber. KXIP will look to sign off in style today.
Even if they lose, CSK won’t move out of the top two of the points table while KXIP will be desperate to get a win which will help them not finish last in IPL 2019. Select your fantasy teams wisely as both teams can try out their bench strength today, giving chances to many who haven’t played all season. Keep reading for our Dotball (Sign-up here) fantasy tips and predictions for the KXIP vs CSK game…

Punjab
Even though he was almost not a part of IPL 2019 altogether, this has been a brilliant season for Chris Gayle, who has scored 462 runs in 12 games this year. He should play today as he isn’t with the Windies squad playing an ODI vs Ireland today. His opening partner has been in great nick too, and on this good batting track of Mohali, I’d pack my fantasy team with batsmen. Pick both of KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran too.
With the ball, pick the regular wicket-takers in Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin, who have 17 and 15 wickets respectively this season. If you are playing one on one, you can’t miss Sam Curran either, who perfectly displayed his all-round abilities in the last game, with a quickfire fifty down the order. However, in a grand league, you can consider dropping him as he may not be needed with the bat today, considering it’s a good batting wicket.
Chennai
First things first. MS Dhoni’s injury management is key before the World Cup and since a top two place is almost guaranteed, there’s a high chance MSD is rested today. Suresh Raina may take over as captain and his 59 in the last game is an indicator of his return to form. The likes of Kedar Jadhav and Ambati Rayudu have been sluggish throughout IPL 2019 and they can be dropped from your fantasy teams.
Dhruv Shorey could also be given another chance ahead of one of them. CSK may decide to stick with their plan of dropping Harbhajan Singh for matches outside Chidambaram Stadium, which could mean another game for Shardul Thakur. Let’s take a chance with Shardul today and hope he does better than what he has done so far, with 6 wickets in 8 games.
