English T20 Blast 2020 - ESS vs MID Fantasy Preview

Finally, we have the 2020 England T20 Blast all set to begin and the tournament will take place between 27 Aug – 3 Oct 2020 with a total of 97 T20 games scheduled, which means there’s plenty to play for for fantasy cricket lovers. A total of 18 teams are divided into three groups of 6 teams each – North Group, South Group and Central Group. A total of 7 games are scheduled to take place simultaneously on the opening day!

In Match 1, we have Essex taking on Middlesex in a South Group match up and it’s going to be an English surplus as you can expect the 2020 T20 Blast season to happen without any overseas players, which may take out the fun from it as well. Essex

For the wicket-keeping duties, we have Adam Wheater who is super experienced with 140+ FC games to his name and we’ll pick him for his experience only, as he hasn’t got any big scores in recent months. Much like him, we have Tom Westley who doesn’t have any great scores in recent games but has the experience of 180+ FC games under his belt. Alastair Cook is in the squad but we don’t really consider him a great T20 batter.

We have the 23-year old Dan Lawrence who has been rising in confidence in recent months and is close to even getting a national call up. Considering he bats and bowls both, he’s someone worth considering as captain or vice-captain of your ESS vs MID fantasy team as well. With the ball, Simon Harmer was their leading wicket-taker in the 2019 Vitality T20 Blast with 17 wickets in 14 games while someone liek Ryan ten Doeschate is also worth having in your team.

Middlesex

Eoin Morgan is in the squad but he may miss this game as England plays Pakistan for a series of T20Is. Then, Stevie Eskinazi becomes one of the senior batsmen and he won’t be a very popular pick because he last scored a fifty for Middlesex in August 2019 but he did well last season with 256 runs in 11 games. Sam Robson has experience playing at the highest level so he’s also worth picking though he doesn’t have big scores in recent games.

Toby Roland-Jones was the team’s highest wicket-taker in the 2019 T20 Blast with 19 wickets in 14 games and that’s reason enough to have him picked in your Nostragamus (Use “READSCOOPS” for Rs.100 FREE) fantasy team for today’s encounter. Martin Andersson is an all-rounder who scored a couple of fifties in 3 FC games for Middlesex earlier this month and he got wickets in these matches as well.
