Dambulla Giants
Niroshan Dickwella had a great season last year but was one of the Sri Lankan players to get a ban after misbehaviour in England and they’re all down on confidence, so we’re leaving him out of our DG vs KW fantasy preview. Captain Dasun Shanaka had a poor Abu Dhabi T10 where he got a best of 23* and just 3 wickets in 9 games but he was one of the top run scorers last season here, so we think he can do well in LPL 2021 too.
If you need another batting option, pick Najibullah Zadran who is one of the best Afghani T20 batsmen and has a lot of franchise experience. He has just flown in from Abu Dhabi after the T10 League and another one was Marchant de Lange who hits it hard into the pitch and was one of the top wicket-takers there, so add him to your DG vs KW Dream11 team. Ramesh Mendis had a great Test series against West Indies, but we’re leaving him out as he’s not a T20 specialist.
Kandy Warriors
This team has better reserves of local players and one of them is captain Angelo Perera who has 60 in his first T10 game in Abu Dhabi and was a little below par since then, but he’s coming into this LPL 2021 season more confident. However, we’re more excited about the team’s vice-captain Charith Asalanka who announced himself in the home series against India and since then, has been doing well for Sri Lanka.

We’re also super excited to see Asela Gunaratne in action.
