WATCH: Fans Hit For Collecting IND vs AUS 3rd T20 Tickets

The sport is nothing without its fans and that’s especially true for the game of cricket in India. It’s celebrated like nothing less than a religion in our country and we should treat these fans with utmost respect. However, that wasn’t the case ahead of the third and final T20I between India and Australia, which is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on 25th September 2022.

The first game of the series took place in Mohali and India began on a losing note as they failed to defend a score in excess of 200. The next game is scheduled to be played in Nagpur on 23rd September but the final one in Hyderabad is the one hogging all the limelight at the moment. And especially so because of recent issues with fans lining up to collect their tickets to this game.

Fans ‘lathi-charged’ ahead of IND vs AUS 3rd T20

A horde of crowds gathered outside the stadium in the days prior to the final game of the 2022 Australia tour of India. And with tickets being an issue, the crowds also got a little restless and one can even say violent. And instead of trying to calm down the issue and reaching a peaceful settlement, we saw angry and violent retorts by the police stationed at the venue.

Passionate fans were present at the Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad to collect their tickets and they got the worst treatment from the authorities at the venue as the police resorted to lathi-charge in order to main some discipline. Videos from the area have gone viral where you can see the officials swinging their ‘lathi’ at the fans present.

We can understand the disappointment of the fans because lines began at 3am this morning and they waited right through the morning in queues, patiently, in order to watch their favourite international stars in action in what could be a deciding game if India wins the 2nd T20 in Nagpur. And instead of rewarding them for their patience, here’s what ended up happening:

Some more visuals from the venue:

Reports from the venue this morning suggest that quite a few people were found unconscious including a police officer from the spot. It’s being termed as the worst management for a cricket game in recent years and no one is happy with these visuals. It is said that the gates of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) were to open at 10am but that didn’t happen, and no updates were given to those waiting.

We’re being told that the crowds waiting outside these gates were as many as 10,000 and more. Secunderabad police resorted to violence and that as led to a chaotic situation there, when all the fans wanted was just to enjoy what is going to be the first international game in this venue after 3 years!
