While the Ram Mandir inauguration date was 22nd Jan, quite a few cricketers arrived a day earlier at the venue, with some of the earliest to be seen including former cricketers Anil Kumble and Venkatesh Prasad. Apart from them, those who were sent out invitations for the ceremony included Sachin Tendulkar, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Kapil Dev, and Virender Sehwag.

The former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad posted a picture and video upon arriving at the venue, with caption, “Jai Shree Ram. What a moment. All in readiness to witness an event of a lifetime. One of our most significant days. Whole of Ayodhya and the majority of our nation pulsating with joy. Ayodhyapati Shree Ramchandra ji ki Jai 🙏🏼🌸.”

Quite a few of the invited cricketers like Kohli and Rohit may not be able to make it for the Ram Mandir opening 2024, because they’ve travelled to Hyderabad to take on England in a Test series at home. Many others who couldn’t make it posted tributes in one way or another, including Srikar Bharat who dedicated his century celebration (against England Lions) to Lord Ram, while South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj posting a touching video message as well.

It’s said that Virat Kohli attained permission from the BCCI to get to Ayodhya for the consecration of the temple at Ayodhya. He flew out from Mumbai today and arrived at the venue, along with a convoy. See the video here:
