An amateur men’s cricket league in India, the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) was launched back in 2011 as an entertainment league more than a professional one. It includes players from various Bollywood and regional cinema industries in India. What began with 4 teams in the inaugural CCL T20 edition in 2011 is now an 8-team competition, played over a month’s schedule each edition.
Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Mumbai Heroes, and Karnataka Bulldozers were the four teams to play the inaugural season in 2011, founded and managed by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, an entrepreneur from Hyderabad. The though was to raise awareness for anti-piracy in the first season but because of the popularity of the league, future seasons were scheduled and took place successfully as well. On this page, we’ve put up a complete Celebrity Cricket League cup winners list…
The Celebrity Cricket League has been played in both the T10 as well as the T20 format over the years, with both of them being enjoyed by viewers. When you look at the history of the tournament thus far, eight completed seasons have been played over the years and the most successful side is the Telugu Warriors who have three (4) titles to their name, including winning three consecutive titles between 2015-2017 and then becoming the CCL 2023 winners as well.

It’s safe to say that while Karnataka Bulldozers are not the most successful side in the competition’s history, they are the most consistent as they’ve made 6 finals in 9 completed seasons so far, with CCL 2023 being the ninth edition of the tournament and the first one to be played post the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is the brand ambassador of the league and in 2019, Mumbai Heroes won the tournament because of wins in all their group stage games. It was the only season which didn’t have a final as the CCL 2019 final was washed out due to rain. In finals, Sachin Joshi and Akhil Akkineni are 2 players to be Man of the Match twice in two separate editions of the CCL T20 finals.
