It’s one hell of a competition when players from around the world gather at the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and battle it out in tough conditions. It’s a spinner’s paradise on Bangladesh pitches but still, some batsmen manage to excel and get their teams ahead, sometimes also managing to complete individual milestones while they’re at it.
We’re going to discuss those BPL T20 batting milestones today, covering all those batsmen who went on to score a BPL century since the start of the league in Feb 2012 till date. A number of local batters as well as international stars have scored a century in this tournament and you can keep reading for our full list of BPL T20 centuries…
The international stars have added a lot of glamour to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and it shows in this BPL centuries list, with a lot of the entries owned by overseas players. The Universe Boss Chris Gayle was the first BPL centurion and also the second BPL centurion, while Shahriar Nafees was the first local player to get a ton in this league.

Before the start of the Bangladesh Premier League 2023 tournament (BPL Season 9), we had as many as 28 individual centuries (updated 21st January 2023), which is up-to-date during the BPL 2023 season. Gayle was not only the first person to score multiple centuries in BPL history but he also holds the record for the highest number of BPL centuries with five (5) centuries to his name between BPL 2012 and BPL 2017. He also holds the record for the highest individual score from among those on this list, smashing an unbelievable 146(69)* for Rangpur Riders in BPL 2017, which was also his last BPL hundred.
It’s very rare that a player scores a T20 century but still ends up on the losing end and that has happened on 6 occasions in the BPL T20 competition over time – Chris Gayle in BPL 2012, Sabbir Rahman in BPL 2012, Dawid Malan in BPL 2019, Lendl Simmons and Faf du Plessis both in BPL 2022, and Azam Khan in BPL 2023. The rest all scored centuries in winning causes.

On several occasions, we’ve seen a couple of BPL centuries on the same day and even in the same match, with a couple of such instances taking place in the last edition itself – BPL 2022. The last time two centuries were scored in the same BPL game was Khulna Tigers vs Chattogram Challengers where Azam Khan scored a century in the first innings but Usman Khan’s century in the chase took the latter home.
BPL 2019 holds the record for the most number of centuries in a single season of this competition with six (6) centuries in that edition. From all these players on the BPL centuries list, Dwayne Smith has played the longest innings in terms of balls faced, in his knock of 103(73)*.
