We’re here to break to you the most shocking news of the year so far as Australia and world cricket has lost one of the legends of the game. Someone with 700 Test wickets to his name and several other cricketing records under his belt, the 52-year old Shane Warne has reportedly passed away due to a massive heart attack.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” confirmed Shane Warne’s management to Australia’s Fox Sports today. As per reports, he passed away of a heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Affectionately known as ‘Warnie’ by the cricketing fraternity across the world, the leg-spinner had achieved everything in his cricketing career, including holding the record of 708 Test wickets, which is behind only Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan. His achievements also included leading Rajasthan Royals to the title in the inaugural Indian Premier League edition in IPL 2008.
Considered by many as the greatest bowler to ever play the game, Warne is also known for his ‘Ball of the Century’ against England and YouTube and other social media is filling up with tributes to the great man. He’s given a lot to Australian as well as world cricket and even recently, we’ve been used to seeing him as part of the broadcasting team for home series.

Having made his debut at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 1992, everyone remembers the young man with blonde hair who then went on to revolutionize the game of cricket as we knew it. He featured int he squad of Australia’s winning World Cup campaign in 1999, and five Ashes-winning teams between the years 1993 and 2003.
