With the current situation, we’re often making fun of those people who have their birthdays in the months of March and April, because they weren’t able to celebrate right, because of the lockdown in place across the world. There’s not much one can do at home for their birthdays, and we have one such legend who also has a birthday coming up.
We’re talking about Indian batting maestro and global superstar, Sachin Tendulkar. On 24th April 2020, the master blaster will turn 47 years old but as per a source, he won’t be celebrating his birthday this year. He has decided to do this as a mark of respect to the nationwide frontline workers who are helping India fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Sachin has decided that this is not the time for celebrations. He feels that this is the best tribute he can pay to all the doctors, nurses, para-medics, policemen, defence personnel, who are at the frontline. He has always been very uncomfortable talking about this aspect,” said a source close to Sachin to Press Trust of India (PTI).
So far, this source is all we have as there has been no such official statement from the legend himself. So far, Sachin has been involved with many social relief initiatives to help better the situation, and has also donated INR 50 lakh to the CM Relief Fund. By the looks of it, he’s going to continue doing what he can from his end to help the situation.
Thousands of fans each year bring out fabulous tributes for the little maestro, but I guess it’s all going to be digital tributes this year, as we don’t think Sachin will be getting out of his home on his 47th birthday. Learn from Sachin and stay at home not just today, but until the government continues to advise the same. Until then, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com for more cricketing updates.
