We’re trying to be as careful as possible when it comes to reporting news on the coronavirus pandemic, because hundreds of websites across the world are publishing every news item they receive, regardless of whether or not it’s been verified or whether or not it comes from a reliable source. This kind of reporting is doing nothing but spreading additional fear among the citizens of the world.
Today, we received news from a reputed source of a building in Kalina, Santacruz (East) in Mumbai being sealed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a populated suburb in Mumbai that connects to commercial hubs like Bandra, Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and others, Kalina is an upcoming region in the city.
The virus has been rampant in Kalina and Vakola in the Santacruz East region, with another development coming through from this region. As you can see in the image above, a building known as Kamla Habitat has been sealed in the region because of one person turning out to have tested positive for the wide-spread disease.
Kamla Habitat is a building behind KES High School (Kalina Educational Society), Sunder Nagar, Kalina. An MCGM board has been stuck on to the building gate, reading “This area has been declared as “Containment Area” as a resident is found Positive in Corona Virus test. The entry to this area is restricted and violation of rules is punishable. Maintain Social Distancing. Stay Safe.”
The board has rightly pointed out the need to maintain social distancing, as this virus is beginning to create a havoc across our city. The only way to control it is we all solemnly swear to stay at home, especially people in the neighbouring areas of Kamla Habitat. Stay at home for yourselves, as well as the health of your family members.
