Leggie Amit Mishra Also Tests Positive for Covid-19

Yesterday, Read Scoops reported news of two players from the KKR camp testing positive for coronavirus and since then, all hell has broken loose in the IPL 2021 setup. Because of IPL SOPs, KKR vs RCB was rescheduled and now, tomorrow’s contest between CSK and RR was put off too, casting doubt on the rest of the season as well. Now, more news has come in of other players testing positive as well.

Leggie Amit Mishra Also Tests Positive for Covid-19

With all teams going into a compulsory one-week isolation as per IPL rules, there has been mass testing taking place and the results are slowly coming in too. A few minutes back, we heard of SRH wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha testing positive for Covid-19, which means tonight’s match of SRH vs MI is almost certainly going to be cancelled as the entire SRH team will also have to entire isolation now.

Now, we’ve heard news from the Delhi Capitals camp of leg-spinner Amit Mishra also testing positive for coronavirus! Being one of the leading wicket-takers in IPL history, Mishra is an important part of the side, and more so after their other spinner Ravi Ashwin quit IPL 2021 to support his family in the fight against Covid-19.

Today’s game was supposed to be the last before a call is taken on the rest of IPL 2021 but we suspect that will also be called off. We’re sure to see an inquiry into the so called bio-secure bubbles as multiple players and members of management have tested positive since yesterday. Prior to this, Adam Zampa also mentioned that he felt ‘unsafe’ in the IPL 2021 bubble.

UPDATE: IPL 2021 has been indefinitely suspended.
