Abu Dhabi T10: Liam Livingstone Hit 35 Runs in an Over!

When T10 cricket started, we knew this was the format where batsmen will come come and try to club everything out of the park. However, regardless of format, it’s never easy to smash 30+ runs in a single over, that too of quality international bowlers. But that’s what England’s Liam Livingstone did today in the 2021/22 Abu Dhabi T10 League!

Abu Dhabi T10: Liam Livingstone Hit 35 Runs in an Over!

In the ongoing fifth season of the tournament, Livingstone captains Team Abu Dhabi and today, he came out all guns blazing against Northern Warriors in an innings including 2 fours and 8 sixes. In the 19th over in particular, he went ballistic, as he smashed Ireland’s Joshua Little for as many as 35 runs in the over!

Abu Dhabi was slightly behind the 8-ball with 80/5 on the board after 8 overs and they needed a good over to propel them to a 100+ score. Livingstone did exactly that as he hit 4 sixes and a couple of boundaries in the 19th over, with three wides helping him as well. He hit 35 runs with the help of these extras to record the highest over in the history of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Eventually, he ended with 68(23)* and hit a couple of long balls in the final over against countryman Chris Jordan as well. Team Abu Dhabi welcomed that impetus as they posted 132/5 in their quota of 10 overs. Livingstone has been getting a growing reputation for being a big hitter and today’s innings just further strengthened that reputation.

We wrote this during the innings break and we don’t know yet whether or not Northern Warriors go on to chase this or whether Liam’s knock will end up being a match-winning one. For more updates on the 2021/22 Abu Dhabi T10 League, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
