While you can associate T10 cricket with a lot of big hitting, fours, sixes, high strikes, and the likes, there are some bowlers who have excelled in the shortest format of the game. One T10 league which outgrew expectations and became a mainstream tournament on the cricketing calendar is the Abu Dhabi T10 League and some bowlers have gone on to make a name for themselves through this tournament.
While there aren’t a lot of 4-fers and 5-fers in this format because each bowler can only bowl 2 overs per game, quite a few bowlers have been consistently among the wickets, and that’s something we’ll speak about on this page. We’ll list down the top bowlers at the end of every season of the very popular Abu Dhabi T10 League…
The first edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League took place in 2017 and it was really nothing more than an experiment at the time. No one knew if this format would work and thus, there were fewer teams, players, budgets, and of course a shorter schedule. And that’s why the first edition’s top bowler ended with only as many as 5 wickets to his name.

We’re talking about Pakistan’s Sohail Tanvir who ended with 5 wickets in 5 games in that inaugural season, with two other bowlers also ending with 5 wickets in an equal number of games (5) and equal number of overs (10) too. Over the years, the number of players and teams increased in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, thus meaning a longer list of fixtures as well. Since that first edition where Tanvir got 5 wickets, not even once did a season’s top bowler end with single-digit wickets. And interestingly so, bowlers representing six different franchises ended as top bowlers at the end of the season, with no team holding this position twice.
In terms of individual wicket-takers, no bowler has even gone on to end as the leading wicket-taker in this tournament, on separate occasions / different seasons. The bowler who holds the record for the most number of wickets in a single Abu Dhabi T10 League season is Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, and we don’t think his record of 21 wickets in a season will be broken anytime soon.
