Watch 2022 India Tour of New Zealand on Amazon Prime Video

Netflix, Hotstar, Zee5, Voot, Prime Video – it’s turning out to be a real war between some of the leading OTT platforms. While most of them believe in entertainment content for bringing in subscribers, a lot of them are also going to sports route right now, like Disney+ Hotstar did as a first mover many years ago.

Today, we’ve heard news of Amazon Prime Video being signed as the official broadcast partner of the 2022 India tour of New Zealand. Most of you may take this as a shock and surprise, thinking that Prime Video has never done sports streaming before but they actually started this more than a year ago, mostly broadcasting New Zealand international series live.

They will bring you the broadcast of 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs live and exclusive, this time going the advertiser route for the first time ever. They’ve always had NO ADS in previous broadcasting stints, the most recent being the tri-series between Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Pakistan before the start of the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup.

They’ve gone on to sign six sponsors for the 2022 India tour of New Zealand, and they’ve also onboarded two only advertisers so far for the same series. Brands like MPL, Airtel Xstream Fiber, Nescafé, Noise, and OLX Autos have been signed as sponsors or this series. Airtel Xstream Fiber is the presenting sponsor of this series where T20 matches begin at 11 am IST and ODIs begin at 6 am IST.

“India men’s tour of New Zealand will be the first live cricket series on Prime Video to feature advertisements, helping brands reach Prime Video’s premium base of highly engaged customers, spread across the country,” said an Amazon Prime Video representative about the decision to bring in sponsors. The IND vs NZ live streaming telecast will be done in as many as 5 languages on Prime Video.

English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu are the five languages in which the series is being streamed, and users can seamlessly change the language of broadcast without exiting the player too. Quite a few former cricketers as well as captains will be a part of the broadcast team, including Gundappa Viswanath, Anjum Chopra, Ravi Shastri, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Venkatpathy Raju, and others.

“The response from advertisers has been overwhelming. They appreciate the fact that they are now able to reach this premium customer base in an extremely low-clutter environment. As a result, advertisers have embraced and valued this. And I’m pleased to announce that we have sold out of all of our sponsorship categories. Some of the ad inventory, which is outside of sponsorships, is still available, and we are in touch with a few brands for that as well,” said Chaitanya Divan, Head of Sports at Amazon Prime Video, India.

Some never seen before features are also going to be a part of the fun on Amazon Prime Video over the next couple of days, along with the usual live broadcast. For more updates from the 2022 India tour of New Zealand, remember to stay tuned to ReadScoops.com
