NEWS IN A LINE: On Sunday night, a gunman opened fire on a music festival crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas.
FULL STORY: In what could be described as one of the worst and deadliest shooting incidents in modern US history, over 50 people are said to have lost their lives, while over 500 have been injured.
Coming in for a country music show, over 22,000 fans were present and all of them started running helter-skelter in an attempt to save their lives. As we are following the story, the official death toll is at 58 but the number is slowly rising. Also, around 515 people are said to have been injured in this shooting.
It was the final night of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival when this incident occurred. It wasn’t a pretty scene as videos and photos of this shocking incident went viral on social media. The gunman was later identified as Stephen Paddock, 64-year old Nevada resident.
The Las Vegas shooting was initially thought to be a terror-related incident but we now believe that there is no trace of any international terrorist group linked to it. Paddock apparently used the vantage point from the 32nd floor to shoot at the large crowd, while artist Jason Aldean was performing.
Jason himself ran off the stage as the firing began. Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo believes that this is a sole-act and has no link to major terror groups but the motive behind such a gruesome act has still not been discovered. As police entered his room on the 32nd floor, Paddock was found dead (killed himself).
The celebrities at the festival took to social media to send out messages:

Atleast 10 rifles and a total of 19 weapons were found in that room from the Mandalay Bay Resort. Paddock’s father was reportedly a convicted bank robber and has also been on FBI’s Most Wanted list. Stephen’s brother has also confirmed that Whatever was Stephen’s motives, we don’t know; but we do know that a lot of innocent people have lost their lives today.
