40 Held in Gambling Bust in Lucknow’s Aishbagh

India has always been very form and strong in its stance against gambling and whenever there have been breaches of the rules against illegal gambling, they have been punished. The most recent development came in from Lucknow’s Aishbagh area where around 40 people have been detained and cash has been seized after an illegal gambling den was raided and busted.

As per reports, Rs.5.53 Lakh in cash was seized from the possession of those present at the venue, which was Indra Colony in Aishbagh. Crime Branch raided the area on Tuesday, 6th July 2021 and they believe the gambling ring was run by notorious criminal Zuber Maulana, and used to run right through the nights.

Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch managed to detain 40 people present at the venue while 9 gamblers managed to escape from the spot, with the police now having intensified the search for them. The police is said to have received information that gamblers here used to stake lakhs of rupees in the house being rented by Maulana, and activities here used to run from midnight to 7am each morning.

As per further reports that came in, the police seized playing cards, huge amounts of cash and a small iron box used to keep cash from the spot, and among those arrested were Maulana and his aides. Many of those arrested even had previous criminal records and an investigation is underway as we type this.
