Could Kim Jong-un be Hiding From Coronavirus?

It’s a theory but certainly a possibility. Since the last week and more, the world has been drawing out multiple conclusions and stories about the North Korean politician and Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un. There were plenty of stories doing the rounds about a botched heart sugery that led to his death.

There were even conclusions made that he died a few days before the heart surgery rumous and that his sister Kim Yo-jong who is next in line, was already training to take over the reins as leader of the country. However, the South Korea’s minister for North Korean affairs recently claimed that the Supreme Leader was fit and fine.

Apart from South Korea, China also backed claims that Kim Jong-un was not missing in action because of his ill health but was probably missing becauae of the coronavirus scare. We’ve already seen the country’s attitude towards COVID-19 in the past, with reports coming out of the only case being shot dead last month.

Could Kim Jong-un be Hiding From Coronavirus?

Regardless of how true that report is, it’s evident that the country realizes the threat being posed by the virus, and they claim to not have a single positive case yet. With human beings barely allowed internal travel, let alone international travel rights, it’s believable. But it’s also believable that the 36-year old leader is in hiding, because of the virus.

In fact, we can even go to the extent of thinking that he may have contracted the virus or been in contact with someone who did, which has forced him into quarantine. Regardless, these are all speculations and assumptions. Internet rumours and satellite images are all we’ve had to feed these assumptions so far.

It was April 15 that began all these rumours. The country celebrates the day as The Day of the Sun each year, in memory of Jong-un’s grandfather Kim II Sung, and this has been one of the most important dates on the North Korean political calendar. Not showing on that day led to the entire world now doubting wheher he still exists.

Some of the closest assumptions we can make is that he’s either hurt in military drills, or that he’s underdoing some health issues, or is just in quarantine and practising social distancing. We can also assume that this entire stunt could also be done for publicity and attention, but I guess you’ll have to stay tuned to ReadScoops.com for all future updates and factual stories!
