LIVE - Watch the Prince Philip Funeral Service

A little over a week ago, we announced the news of the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. He was one of the most influential names in UK history and passed away at the age of 99 years, leaving behind his wife of 73 years – Queen Elizabeth II. Since then, countless preparations have been made for Prince Philip’s funeral service which is today, 17 April 2021.

With the coronavirus restrictions in place, only 30 people will be around for Prince Philip’s funeral while millions of people will be watching the service LIVE on YouTube and other channels. The funeral will take place at the Windsor Castle in Berkshire County. All of his children and grandchildren are expected to be present.

He will be transported in a modified green Land Rover which the Duke himself meticulously worked on for over 16 years. It’s going to be a fitting farewell for this member of British Royalty and the Queen herself will be present as well, seated alone. It’s also said that Prince William and Prince Harry will also reunite for the funeral service, the first time since the latter renounced his military duties.

Hundreds of visitors have been passing through right through the day and have been leaving behind meaningful noted and flowers in respect of the Duke, born in 1921 and dead in 2021. 1pm GMT: Marches begin and the different regiments all make their way into the Windsor Castle from the various entries:

1:20pm GMT: The first of the Royal Family guests are seen. The commentators say that Meghan Markle will not be in attendance as advised by her physicist. Also, the green Land Rover which acts as the hearse today makes its first appearance.
