5 Household Chores to Help With in Quarantine

It can get very annoying, stuck in the home 24×7. All day, every day. Just stuck within 4 walls. However, it’s better to start working on yourself and your home during this quarantine time, rather than letting it get to you and depress you. Read Scoops has been doing a series of articles on things you can do during the lockdown, including 5 home workouts that don’t require any equipment.

Now’s also a good time to bond with your family and spend time with them that you probably won’t get for the next few years to come, so we also suggested some of the top board games you could play with your family in lockdown. But remember, it’s also a good time to start helping out at home, if you aren’t one of those burdened with all the responsibilities.

With the lockdown restrictions in place, there’s no domestic help available and there’s more to do, for more people at home, because no one’s going out. All this works needs to be done, so it’s helpful if everyone started contributing in some way or the other. Today, we’re listing down some of the easiest tasks you can do to reduce the stress on the others at home.

5 Household Chores to Help With in Quarantine

Top 5 quarantine chores to help with

1) Water the plants

Take a mug or bottle or can or water. Head to your garden or nursery. Pour the water. Not rocket science, right? In times like these, we have more time to grow some plants and if there’s someone else watering these plants daily, why don’t you take over this responsibility?! You’ll be helping take the load off someone at home while also helping better the environment.

2) Make coffee/tea each evening

Now this might need a little bit more time and efforts, but it’s still a pretty minor task. A little bit of milk, sugar, water and either coffee or tea will do the trick for you. If you don’t know how to make tea or coffee, learn. It’s not all that hard, to be honest. Don’t forget to put the cups in the microwave for a while because your family members won’t really appreciate ice cold tea or coffee!

3) Sanitize the place

Now this is something that helps the current situation as well. We’re aware that we’re fighting an invisible enemy in the corona virus, so it’s important we keep staying safe and doing the right things from our end, like sanitizing objects and furniture at home. A simple wet wipe or other alcohol based solutions and washes will do the trick, as just wiping or washing with water won’t help.

4) Keep the clothes away

Okay, we’re not asking you to do the heavy laundry and washing of dirty clothes. But once it’s done, you could probably help put them out to dry on the clothes rack or in your balcony. Once dried, try collecting them in, folding them and putting them away in your drawers, cupboards or shelves. The entire process shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes of your time.

5) Wash the dishes

Probably the most tedious task from all those listed above, but it’s only fair to contribute to this task in the kitchen if you’re not the one cooking the meals yourself. Again, it won’t be too time consuming if you decide to clear up the kitchen sink once or twice a day, and keep the dished out to dry!
