It’s not the kind of news we like to report but a recent report online suggested that a 24-year old youth from Telangana committed suicide because of excessive gambling losses and possible depression because of the same. If what we’ve heard is right, then the boy had lost up to INR 15 Lakh in recent times from online gambling!
While we’re not too sure of his full name and family background, it is said that the young boy named Madhukar committed suicide a couple of days back after losing large sums of money, a resident of Modela of Lakshettipet in Mancherial, which is a region in Telangana, while many reports online suggest it’s Hyderabad.
These reports also say that he lost a lot of money to scammers and fraudsters online but to be fair, he was playing on online betting and gambling platform Dafabet which is a registered company and one of the leading bookmakers in the Asian region. However, Telangana has always been against card game and gambling activities, which makes it illegal to do what Madhukar was doing.

Reports online make it sound like he was scammed but the fact is that he played and lost all this money. It’s said that Madhukar’s father had to pay back his friends for all these losses. The boy was pursuing his final year of engineering and just before his death, he told his father he was going to the ATM, but then didn’t return.
Later, he messaged his sister saying he had consumed pesticide. His sister informed the father and while they rushed him to the hospital, he didn’t survive. The gambling debts were apparently paid off but it’s said that Madhukar had become depressed for losing such big amounts playing on Dafabet.
