2017 is now behind us and we decided to review the best movies of the past year. We’ve had another great year for cinema with some amazing movies which might go down as masterpieces. Take a look and don’t forget to leave your comments at the bottom:

5. Baby Driver

Director: Edgar Wright

A surprise hit of the year, the movie mesmerized audiences with its baby faced driver whose name is Baby. Baby is a talented getaway driver who relies on his personal favourite soundtracks on his iPods. After meeting the love of his life he wants to quit his shady life and start afresh.

Forced into working with a crime-boss, Baby is faced with the biggest heist of his life which is doomed to fail. Will Baby face the music in the end? This was a breakthrough movie with an amazing soundtrack and sound effects. Its a treat to your ears!!

4. Lady Bird

Director: Greta Gerwig

Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, Tracy Letts

Its a coming-of-age story of a teenage girl and her turbulent relationship with her mother. Lady Bird is a heartwarming story of a mother who works tirelessly to keep her family happy after her husband loses his job. The mother-daughter relation has been shown brilliantly with amazing performances from both the leads. The struggles and challenges of a teenage girl has been portrayed almost perfectly.

A perfect feel-good movie. I feel Oscars would be calling for this movie.

3. Logan

Director: James Mangold

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook

Probably the best Superhero movie of all time, Hugh Jackman (in his last ever appearance as Logan) plays a character which he has played for nearly 17 years.

In the future, a tired and weary Logan takes care of Professor X at a remote location. He tries his level best to hide from the outside world but when he meets a young mutant girl with similar powers, he must get back to his old self to protect the girl from harm as there are evil forces who want the girl dead.

An intensely emotionally driver film which does justice to the ailing superheroes which we have loved from time immemorial. A fitting tribute to the most loved mutants, Logan & Professor X.

2. Dunkirk

Director: Christopher Nolan

Starring: Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Tom Hardy, Cilian Murphy

This war movie depicts the Dunkirk evacuation of World War II. Evacuation of the Allied forces from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk, in the North of France. Allied forces consisting of British, Belgian, French troops were left stranded on the beach as they were cut-off and surrounded by German troops. The troops were slowly and methodically evacuated with the help of air and ground cover.

Watch it from the 3 vantage points: land, air and sea. The movies captures the whole essence of the evacuation brilliantly and Hans Zimmer has given a terrific soundtrack especially with the tick-tock sound of the watch. Each member of the ensemble cast has delivered a great performance.

Yet another visual masterpiece from Nolan with an amazing cinematography.

1. Blade Runner 2049

Director: Denis Villeneuve

A sequel to the 1982 movie Blade Runner, this neo-noir science fiction captured the imagination of the original movie faithful. Brilliant performances along with the soundtrack, cinematography and faithfulness towards the original, this movie has been billed as one of the best visually tactical movie.

A young blade runner unearths a long-buried secret which can lead the world into chaos, this leads him to find the the blade runner from the original movie and thus begins the epic adventure.

Another visual treat of this year!
