Every year, millions of fans across the world using different gaming consoles wait for the release of their yearly sporting video games like FIFA, Formula 1, WWE, NBA, and others. However with cricket, EA Sports stopped producing games with their last in Cricket 07 itself and since then, we’ve barely had any cricket games for video gaming enthusiasts. However, things are slowly changing in the right direction…
The last popular cricket game to have released was Ashes Cricket and then, Cricket 19 was released by Big Ant Studios. It was a revolutionary product for cricket fans because there was a massive upgrade in gameplay, in graphics and of course, the career mode, which allowed you to go through different stages of selection across tournaments. Three years later, Big Ant is here for an upgrade again.
We’re talking about Cricket 22 which hits stores worldwide on 2 December 2021 and was made available on your PlayStation Store at 12:01am in your local time zone. Apart from just PlayStation 4, the Cricket 22 release will also be on platforms like PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. The wait is over and finally, you can get your hands on the latest cricket video game!

This will be the first time Big Ant is releasing a game in this franchise on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X platforms. Originally, the game was supposed to be released earlier on 25 November 2021 but they had to redesign and redevelop the covers and other artwork after Tim Paine’s sexting scandal which led to him stepping down as captain of the Australian Test side.
Pat Cummins and Meg Lanning – captains of the Aussie men’s and women’s test teams respectively – make the cover of Cricket 22 now. Big Ant CEO Ross Symons said, “There was a critical day 1 patch that players will need to enjoy the full Cricket 22 experience that has consequently needed to be revoked.”
