Former US Treasurer Joins Ripple Board

Today, we’re going to speak about Ripple (XRP) and a recent development announced by this company. There has always been keen interest in this coin and only recently, it was replaced as the fourth highest valued crypto-currency, losing its position to Dogecoin itself. Blockchain technology giant XRP has now announced on Tuesday, 4th May 2021, the appointment of 2 new high-post members!

Firstly, Ripple appointed Rosa Gumataotao Rios as a member of its board of directors, who was the 43rd US treasurer under former President Barack Obama. In addition to hiring Rios, the company also appointed Kristina Campbell to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ripple.

“I’ve dedicated my career to financial inclusion and empowerment, which requires bringing new and innovative solutions to staid processes,” said Rios in a press statement. When she was US treasurer, Rios oversaw all currency and coin production activities, having nearly 4,000 employees under her, working at an annual budget of approximately $5 billion.

This appointment news comes at a time when Ripple has been accused by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of having launched the XRP coin as an unregistered security.
