Over the decades, we’ve gotten used to a lot of plagiarised scripts and screenplays in India, or you can call them the ‘Indian adaptations’ of the original western shows. However, the last couple of years has been brilliant for Indian cinema, with some mind-blowing original movies and TV series coming up, especially those that air on the several digital platforms we have in the country.
And while most people would swear by Netflix and Amazon Prime, I’m here to actually talk about something I watched on Disney + Hotstar recently. Combining an ordinary cast with a good plot turned out to be exactly what viewers were looking for in Hotstar Hindi series called Aarya. And while the first season released in 2020, we’re going to talk about Aarya Season 2 today..
In a lead role in the series is none other than India’s first ever Miss Universe pageant winner, Sushmita Sen, playing a role that she probably hasn’t played in the past. And while he’s got more of a guest appearance (playing a dead person in others’ memories person) is Chandrachur Singh who became famous for Josh and wasn’t really seen a lot in Indian cinema over the last couple of decades after that.
Aarya Season 2 Review
While Season 1 saw Sushmita Sen (playing Aarya Sareen) playing a timid housewife who has mostly unaware of her husband’s businesses, Aarya Season 2 has brought out a completely different side of her. Now well into her late forties, she has been nothing less than stunning in the second edition of this series, where she brought out the wild tigress part of her character.

Dealing drugs, ordering hits, playing politics, choosing who to trust and who not to, and wielding the odd weapon every now and then – she’s done it all in Aarya Season 2. And while her kids didn’t have much of a role to play in Season 1, they’ve both been promoted for Season 2, much like we seen happen in Family Man Season 2 as well, on Amazon Prime.
Aarya Season 2 Ending Explained
Now Aarya Season 2 Episode 8 marked the end of this edition of the series, but it was very evident that there will indeed be an Aarya Season 3 on Hotstar. We were wondering, with Shekhawat, his father, and his wife all being wiped out and with Aarya’s own family being ruled out of the plot, it could mean the end of this digital series.
However, we knew this would continue to Aarya Season 3 because of the great response the show has received so far. It only meant that Season 3 would need a new villain, with revenge being the main motive, much like in Mirzapur Season 2. Aarya Season 2 on Hostar ended with Sooraj stepping into the show. They show him calling Aarya to say he’s back for revenge and he is Nandini Shekhawat’s husband.
Looking towards Aarya Season 3
Earlier in the show, there was a mention of Sooraj before, when Aarya said he was Nandini’s husband hiding in Germany. While they didn’t reveal the face of the character, he sounded pretty menacing and he must be too, considering he was out ‘hiding’ in another country. So yes, there’s much to look forward to in Aarya Season 3 where ACP Khan will try to have yet another go at the new don in town, Aarya!
