Over the last couple of months, there’s been a lot of conversation about whether or not Elon Musk would end up making the purchase of Twitter, which is one of the biggest social media networks in the world. And the notorious billionaire was almost through with the deal too, with Twitter users egging him on since day one.
The sale was almost through as the Tesla CEO and the microblogging platform decided on mutual terms. However, things took a nasty turn as Musk was found guilty of breaching some terms of the $44 Billion contract. As per a report online, the lawsuit was filed in Delaware’s Court of Chancery on Tuesday, 12th July 2022, accusing Musk of hypocrisy.
Elon Musk doesn’t care about Twitter lawsuit?!
The news of Twitter suing Musk surfaced online yesterday and the social media giant even made the lawsuit public, stating, “Twitter brings this action to enjoin Musk from further breaches, to compel Musk to fulfill his legal obligations, and to compel consummation of the merger upon satisfaction of the few outstanding conditions.”
It’s funny that in April 2022, Twitter didn’t even want to go through with the deal and now, they’re hell bent on Musk going through with the purchase. We’re expecting such a legal case to be a back and forth one which may not end anytime soon, as Twitter expects to hold Musk to his deal of paying $54.20 per share for their company.

It was Musk who decided to call off the deal last week via a letter sent by his team to Twitter, citing multiple breaches of the purchase agreement. He had initially put the deal on hold in May this year to validate Twitter’s claim that the platform has less than 5% accounts which are considered to be fake or bots or spam.
Twitter is being represented by M&A law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Either way, this seems to be a victory for Musk A few days ago, he posted, “They said I couldn’t buy Twitter. Then they wouldn’t disclose bot information. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose bot information in court.”
Over the years, we’ve seen Musk getting his way more times than not and we have a strong feeling that this legal tussle could end in his favour too. When news surfaced of him being sued yesterday, he decided to tweet about it with the least care in the world. He didn’t mention Twitter in his tweet but it was quite obvious, given the timing. All he said was, “Oh the irony lol”.

In a few hours, the twee got thousands of likes and retweets and replies, as Musk is a massive influencer on Twitter, with 101 million followers to his name. It’s not the first time one of his tweets have attracted attention and it certainly won’t be the last time either. For more updates on this case, make sure you stay tuned to ReadScoops.com…
