Twitter (X) Reacts to Distasteful Poonam Pandey PR Stunt

It’s not every day that you hear of celebrities dying and then claiming to be alive and well a day later. We all know that PR is important in the lives of celebrities but we didn’t think people would stoop to low levels in order to get a certain level of fame. Here’s what we witnessed with Poonam Pandey yesterday – a faked death only to return a day later – POOR, DISTASTEFUL, DESPERATE, PATHETIC.

Her social media manager claimed that the 32-year old lost her life to cervical cancer but it was not even 24 hours later that we see Pandey posting videos of herself claiming to be alive and well. Under the pretext of ‘awareness for cervical cancer’, she has gone ahead and completed this poor attempt at a publicity stunt, and social media can’t keep calm today.

Poonam Pandey publicity stunt ridiculed on social media

The entire country was searching about ‘Poonam Pandey death’ yesterday but we’re sure there won’t be as much concern for when something actually happens, God forbid. “Whoever crafted the Poonam Pandey campaign, must know that the message that comes out is that people don’t die of cervical cancer. 🥲” said Gabbar on Twitter (X). See some more reactions on the social media platform below:

“I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Let’s empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take. Visit the link in the bio to delve deeper into what can be done. Together, let’s strive to put an end to the devastating impact of the disease and bring #DeathToCervicalCancer” was the caption of her social media post along with a video to let her followers know she’s alive.

The Poonam Pandey cheap publicity stunt garnered a lot of hateful comments. “What an absolute joke😂 get a life and stop begging for attention” said one user on her Instagram post. “You made your existence a joke! This is ridiculous!! There could be better ways to spread the awareness.” said social media influencer Palak Purswani on another video she posted, in collaboration with @hauterrfly handle on Instagram.

“This is awareness of which vaccine not to use !!! The company that encouraged such an insensitive campaign !!!! This company shud b sued” said Ekta Kapoor on Instagram as well. We’re sure Poonam would’ve known that she’ll receive hate and be trolled for this attempt, so she began her video with a sorry and even claims that she hasn’t made any money out of this.
