He’s often considered as the bad boy of Bollywood but he’s also one of India’s most loved celebrities and that means, he’s got nothing short of tens of millions of followers across India and the world. In such times of the coronavirus epidemic, it’s vital that such major celebrities do their part and inform their followers of what would be the right way to act and react to situations.
In India, the numbers are rising and not everyone is following the lockdown, recently extended to 3rd May by PM Modi a few days back. Thus, superstar Salman Khan took it upon himself to make his followers aware of the threat we’re facing and what would be the ideal way to go about things.
He posted a 9-minute video to his Instagram page where he has 31+ million followers. He compared the situation to a real life Bigg Boss show where no one comes in to his house and no one from in goes out, except to get groceries. He mentioned how it’s more serious when it’s a disease of which has no cue yet, like in the case of COVID-19.
He re-iterated the need to stay at home and stay isolated, even if it means staying at home for prayers. The government isn’t laying out these laws and guidelines for themselves, but for all of us. The police aren’t enjoying hitting each one they see out on the roads and there’a reason they’re doing this, taking a risk that they and their families could also be exposed to coronavirus.
Bankers, health workers, policemen and hundreds of others are doing their duty to keep us safe and have essential services still active. Salman also mentioned he knows many people who never left their homes but have now started doing so ever since the lockdown was enforced. “Kamaal Hai.” Remember, no one is safe from this virus and no one is immune!
