Apple iPhone 8 Launch Event – Hit or Flop?

For months, there has been speculation and anticipation over the 2017 Apple launch event, where more than just one new smartphone was set to be launched. Today, 12th September 2017, is the day where FIVE new Apple products are set to be launched at the launch event:

  • Apple iPhone 8
  • Apple iPhone 8 Plus
  • Apple iPhone X
  • Apple 4K TV
  • Apple Watch 3

What to expect from this event?

Apple CEO Tim Cook is currently onstage in California at the 2017 Apple launch event, and he has quite a few announcements to make today. I wouldn’t personally expect much from the iPhone 8, as Apple has just been dragging on the iPhone series since the last couple of years.

Here was Maximbady trolling Apple after last year’s launch event:

There was a leak of what the latest iPhone would look like but today you can know for sure. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be launched together, while something completely new will also be launched, which should be the star of today’s launch show – the Apple iPhone X.

Features of this phone are said to include a full-screen display, a facial recognition software as well as wireless charging. Along with features, price goes up too, and the iPhone X is going to be priced at around £1,000 – an Apple record. (Roughly 85,000 INR).

For the 4K TV, Eddy Cue, member of Apple’s executive leadership team, said that Apple has been working with all Hollywood studios to get their 4K HDR productions available on iTunes. Cue mentioned that the 4K TV is “incredible“. The TV will be launched on 22nd September 2017.

The iPhone X was the real talking point of this launch event at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California. The phone is set to launch on November 3rd this year. We have to believe that the iPhone X is the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone released years back.

No home button and a full-screen display were some of the talking points, along with the new Animoji feature – basically an animated version of the already existing popular emoji found in iPhones. Your thoughts on the 2017 Apple launch event? Hit or flop?
