Wimbledon 2022 Top Seeds
Every tennis fan across the world is now super excited as we’ve arrived at Wimbledon 2022 where there are plenty of drop outs and injuries, but the action is going to be as intense as ever in London. In both the men’s and women’s competition at The Championships Wimbledon 2022, some of the top players in the world are going to battle it out to win the most prestigious event in tennis history!
There are some changes in the top seeds because of dropouts, ad especially because of Wimbledon 2022’s rule of banning players from Russia and Belarus. It means a chance for several new players to cash in big and maybe even get their hands of a maiden grand slam title. Here in this article, we’re covering the Wimbledon 2022 men’s and women’s top seeds.
Among the men, several known names are missing like Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem, Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev, and more. On the women’s front, Eugenie Bouchard and Naomi Osaka are out, with defending champion Ashleigh Barty also out of action after announcing her retirement from tennis earlier this year.
Novak Djokovic is the top men’s seed for Wimbledon 2022 and he’s also the defending champion in the men’s singles event. He’ll be given a tough fight by Rafael Nadal who has won both the grand slams of 2022 so far, while French Open 2022 finalist Casper Ruud will also be a tough nut to crack. In the women’s draw, French Open champ Iga Swiatek is the top seed. See below our Wimbledon 2022 seeds tracker…

What are seeds in tennis?
In commercial sports, it’s never god for fans or sponsors or even the players themselves if the top ranked players face off against each other in the early stages of the tournament. Thus, the seeding system was designed in order to help organisers plan the tournament in a way that if there are no upsets, the top ranked players will face off in the final. Seeds are decided based on form and world rankings.
