Wimbledon 2022 quarter final – Cristian Garin vs Nick Kyrgios
When you look at Cristian Garin, he’s not someone who is made for grass court tennis and hasn’t even had great success here before. Unseeded in this tournament, he made Round 4 of Wimbledon 2021 as well and this is his first career grand slam quarter final. He’s hard as a nail and is a great fighter but he’s inexperienced at this stage and there’s probably fatigue from his last game. He’s good value, up as underdog today at odds of 4.25 with ComeOn Sport
As for Kyrgios, it’s been a whirlwind last week or so. He’s always had potential but we haven’t seen him playing better than how he’s been playing at Wimbledon 2022. In the last game however, he wasn’t at his best and we saw him being a little stiff and showing complaints about his shoulder as well. If he’s 100% fit and brings the same game he’s had all week, this is his game for sure, up at favourite odds of 1.24. However, consistency hasn’t been the stronger suit in his career so far.
Wimbledon 2022 so far
Garin has done well with a couple of straight sets wins in the first and second round, followed by a 4-set win against #29 seed Jenson Brooksby in Round 3 and an epic 5-set thriller against #19 seed Alex de Minaur. The thing to note is that he came back from losing the first couple of sets there in Round 4 and that shows that he’s someone who won’t give up till the end. He’s obviously a worthy underdog punt, at odds of 3.05 with ComeOn to win the first set.

Unseeded like Garin, Kyrgios had a tough time against Paul Jubb where he was stretched to 5 sets in the first round itself, and then beat #26 seed Filip Krajinovic in straight sets in the second round. In Round 3 of Wimbledon 2022, he got past #4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and that is easily one of his biggest wins in recent months. Then, he survived 5 sets again and got past Brandon Nakashima to make the quarter finals.
Cristian Garin vs Nick Kyrgios – head to head
These two have a lot of experience individually but they’re yet to play each out on the ATP tour till date. So, the Garin vs Kyrgios head-to-head count is 0-0 and both of them will be waiting to take the early lead here. Kyrgios may be favourite but he’s not someone who can be flawless. We don’t expect straight sets from him, so fancy a punt on a 3-1 or 3-2 win, while also betting on Garin to win Set 1 at odds of 3.05.
