The legendary Roger Federer is out of contention at The Championships Wimbledon 2022 while young gun Alexander Zverev is out due to surgery from an injury he picked up at French Open 2022. Former US Open champion Dominic Thiem is also out while because of the ban to Russia and Belarus, 2021 US Open winner Daniil Medvedev won’t be participating in this tournament either.
To add to this, Rafael Nadal has been struggling with his foot as he mentioned a few times at the recent Roland Garros. He’s won both the grand slams played this year but we know that he’s not currently at his best. All of these pieces of information we’re giving you is only to let you know that the 2022 Wimbledon men’s singles tournament is wide open and there are chances we find a new winner for sure!
Who will be the Wimbledon 2022 men’s winner?
As per bookmakers and tennis experts from across the world, number #1 seed and the top ranked men’s player Novak Djokovic is the clear favourite to go on to win the men’s singles title at London this year. With six career titles at Wimbledon, we can understand why but let’s not forget that he missed the first slam of the year and didn’t make it as far as he’d like in the second one in Paris recently either.
Meanwhile, 19-year old Carlos Alcaraz has been having the most terrific start to 2022 and you’d think that he’d be a strong contender. But on the flipside, he’s got most of his results on clay courts this year and in Wimbledon 2021, he couldn’t get past even Round 2. He believes winning Wimbledon is possible but it’s surely going to be an uphill task for him.

After making four career slam semi-finals and one final, Stefanos Tsitsipas is still searching for a maiden grand slam victory but he hasn’t had the best results here either. Three first round exits in his last 4 appearances at Wimbledon means he’s not someone we’ll be backing to go all the way here either.
We’re super bullish on one player and that’s Italy’s Matteo Berrettini. He made the fourth round a couple of editions ago and then the final last year, so he’s all set to take it one step further this year. Coming into this tournament, he won the Stuttgart Open and the Queen’s Club Championships back-to-back, so he’s in red-hot form and will be looking to get a maiden slam under his belt as well.
Djokovic is going to be the biggest thorn in everyone’s side and he’ll clearly be the person to beat here in London. He’s a master of his trade and not many have managed to get past him at Wimbledon over the years.
