Tennis has always been a loved sport in India and the idea of the Tennis Premier League launched by Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain in 2018 was a brilliant one. So good that it successfully completed five editions till date.
This Indian tennis league goes with the motto “Every Point Matters” and they’ve got 8 franchise teams participating with owners including Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi, Sonali Bendre, Leander Paes, and others. These teams represent various states of India and they’re divided into two groups of four teams each.
Tennis Premier League teams
The participating teams include Bengaluru SG Pipers, Bengal Wizards, Chennai Smashers, Gujarat Panthers, Rajasthan Rangers, Yash Mumbai Eagles, Hyderabad Strikers, Delhi Rarh Tigers, and Punjab Patriots. Later in the history of the league, Rakulpreet Singh and Taapsee Pannu also joined TPL as tennis team owners.
In the five completed seasons so far, Hyderabad Strikers is the most successful team with 2 titles to their name, winning in both of TPL Season 3 and TPL Season 4, in 2021 and 2022 respectively. In both those years, they ended up beating Mumbai Leon Army in the finals. TPL Season 6 will see all matches played at Cricket Club of India (CCI), Mumbai.

TPL Season 6 schedule
The TPL 2024 season will be played in Mumbai between 3-8 Dec 2024. There will be a 25-point format for the first 5 days, following which the top 4 teams will qualify for the next stage. Then on the TPL Season 6 schedule is the semi finals and final, all of which will be played on the last day of the season, 8th Dec 2024.
