The T20 Mumbai League was established in 2018 by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) which is one of the biggest regional cricket boards in India. The idea was to boost the domestic talent in the city of Mumbai and neighbouring cities, and it did a great job with it through the first couple of seasons in 2018 and 2019.
However, the coronavirus pandemic struck late in 2019 and the competition had to take an indefinite break. Today, we’re all set for T20 Mumbai League Season 3 which has returned after 6 years in the wilderness. The MT20 League 2025 dates are 26th May to 8th June 2025, kicking off as soon as the IPL 2025 season crowns a winner.
The T20 Mumbai League inaugural champions in 2018 was Triumph Knights Mumbai North East who went into the history books thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 90 in the final against Shivaji Park Lions, in a season where all the games were played at Mumbai’s famous Wankhede Stadium. It was a hard-fought game with Knights winning by only 3 runs.
T20 Mumbai League Season 2 saw a new winner and runner-up as North Mumbai Panthers took home the title in 2019, beating SoBo SuperSonics in the final. Once again, all games were played at the Wankhede and in this final, Atif Attarwala produced an all-round effort to take his side home, winning the final by 12 runs.

T20 Mumbai Season 3 unveiled Rohit Sharma as the face of the season, and the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Ayush Mhatre, Tushar Deshpande, Ajinkya Rahane, and others will be in action. Most of these names were a part of the IPL 2025 season except for Prithvi Shaw, so he will come out all guns blazing, with a clear point to prove to the selectors.
