We’ve learnt something over the last few months that no matter how well you do in life and no matter how many accolades you achieve, there are always going to be haters. Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has silenced many haters in the last one year by winning the T20 World Cup, the ICC Champions Trophy, and now IPL 2025 with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

However, critics happen to always pop up. While millions across the world praised and admired him for his first IPL title after 18 years, many haters came up with ridiculous posts after the victory parade stampede saw many people lose their lives. While arrangements could’ve been better, #ArrestKohli started trending on Twitter (X) as if it was his fault that the stampede took place.

We’ve seen people fall to new lows during the last couple of days after this incident took place. Many renowned journalists and media houses have gone on record to blame RCB management, Karnataka State Cricket Association, and Virat Kohli for this tragic incident that took place. As per reports, 11 people died and many others injured, and critics say that RCB could’ve done much better.

They could’ve done better in security arrangements and the biggest misconception is that the RCB players went on with celebrations at the Chinnaswamy Stadium despite known about deaths happening around the area. To be honest, there’s now way that RCB management would know about what’s happening outside in real-time. And that’s where the miscommunication has led to spreading hate once again.

The sheer ignorance of people to trend #ArrestKohli is ridiculous, because it’s the call of KSCA and the RCB team management to depart on this victory parade, which means several minds at play when taking these calls. Yet, ignorant fans believe that Kohli should be arrested. Arnab Goswami went on air saying Kohli shouldn’t forgive himself for not visiting the homes of those who lost their lives. Really, Arnab?

Arnab went on to speak about Kohli’s millions of fans on Instagram and how he gets paid crores per Instagram post. How is this relevant, we will never know. But we believe that everyone is trying to get some mileage using the superstar’s name. The best reply would be Kohli’s team filing defamation cases against all these media houses, who haven’t really spent time to look at facts before spreading hateful news.

The victory parade was supposed to be one of joy and sharing the happiness of the fans and players. Instead, it turned out to be a blood bath and journalists have tried to get cheap leverage from the situation. Kohli posted saying that he was ‘gutted’ with the situation but even that wasn’t enough according to Arnab. And like Arnab, many other ignorant social media activists had posts on the situation, which we’ve covered on this page.

Most people demanded compensation from Kohli to the families of those who lost their lives, but luckily sense prevailed among some people online. There were many who backed their hero, asking the right question on how Kohli is responsible for this incident?! See some of the tweets in his favour below:
