STORY UPDATE: 2nd August, 2017 – According to reports, the club FC Barcelona has given it’s star player Neymar Jr the permission to continue discussions with French club PSG, and leave his Spanish club FCB.
People in France say that the star player could be a part of PSG within the next 48 hours. Neymar seems ready to say goodbye to his teammates as he is keen to discover a world where he can play out of the shadow of the legend and his current teammate Lionel Messi.
JUST IN: 25-year old Brazilian striker Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, also known as Neymar Jr. or just Neymar, has reportedly accepted a €222 million ($256.8 million) offer from French football club Paris Saint-Germain F.C. We feel this is the end of all the confusion surrounding the Neymar transfer.
Not very long ago, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) snapped up right back Dani Alves from Barcelona and have had their eyes on Neymar since a while. They swooped in at a good time as Neymar was uncomfortable at Barcelona, according to reports.
There were rumours of a Neymar move every summer since the striker made his debut for Barcelona four seasons ago. However, there have been quite a few talks this time of him being uncomfortable playing second fiddle to Lionel Messi, and that he wants to go make a bigger name for himself.
A move to PSG right now would give him that perfect opportunity as PSG could create a team and style of play around Neymar. Manchester United and Manchester City also showed interest in the striker but were unwilling to pay the fee asked for.
PSG on the other hand, have given him an irresistible offer which he couldn’t refuse and if we at Read Scoops heard it right, Neymar has accepted this world record offer of €222 million, and will indeed be playing in France this season. The amount was a fee as Neymar was contracted at Barca till 2021 and there was a release clause.
Reports suggest that he will be paid a hefty €30m (£26.6m) a year at PSG. Will this move give him a chance to prove himself out of the shadows of Leo Messi? Or will this be a suicidal move? Could he grow better at PSG than he would’ve at Barcelona over the years? Here’s what the Twitterati have to say:

PSG's plan:
Step 1: Sign Dani Alves
Step 2: Sign Neymar
Step 3: Change name to Barcelona, hope Messi gets confused and plays for them too— Bogdan Garoős (@BogdanGaros) July 18, 2017
PSG want 2 sign Neymar for €222M?
From now on he must score at least a hat trick in all his matches.
AT LEAST!!
